Dr. Eng. Vladimir CREŢU has been awarded Professor Emeritus by the Politehnica University of Timisoara,

for his entire didactic, scientific and management activity, as well as his remarkable contributions to the development of the Department of Computer and Information Technology, as head of department for 24 years.

Professor Dr. Eng. Vladimir Ioan Creţu (b. 1950) is conducting an exceptional academic and scientific activity, for over 42 years, at the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Department of Computer and Information Technology, coordinating the development of this department, with high moral, managerial and collegial profile, from 1992 until 2016.

Along his academic career he published, at national and international level, over 207 scientific papers, 10 books and 10 patents for invention and innovation, in computer science and engineering fields of high interest, such as real-time systems, data structures and algorithms, algorithm design and analysis, programming techniques, software project management. He is a PhD supervisor in Computer and Information Technology since 1994.
